Angela Stempel (b.1989) is a Venezuelan-American animation artist and director. She makes work about the human hunger for love, pleasure and validation in contemporary society. Her animated narratives humorously investigate the possibilities of abstraction, while telling the stories of lovably flawed characters with overactive imaginations. While her work leans into humor for social commentary, she is deeply interested in celebrating all the experiences of her female protagonists with empathy.
